Welcome to Southern California Fibershed

building regenerative textile economies

The Southern California Fibershed encompasses most of the region south of San Luis Obispo to San Diego, specifically the counties of Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura.*

We are a community of artisans and activists, ranchers, farmers and makers. We promote soil-to-soil fiber literacy, celebrate craftsmanship, and support civic engagement and local economies. So Cal Fibershed seeks to build and sustain a thriving textile culture that champions principles of ecological balance, regional organic agriculture, and individual well-being.

For Riverside and San Bernardino counties, please see the Inland Empire Fibershed.

Events and Programs

We create and promote programming including author talks, art exhibits, conferences, farm tours, and workshops.

We develop regional fiber systems that build soil & protect the health of our biosphere.
